Tboy thought he'd ask those of you who are interested to submit any good photos you have of Bart Whiteman from his D.C.-theater heyday. Tboy has a project in mind. He doesn't want to discuss it here, but will be happy to elaborate privately, for those who want to respond.
Scan your photos, please, at high resolution and send them to Tboy's email address, along with whatever credit/copyright info you'd like to include; the e-mail is available through the link at the top left of the page. If you don't have access to a scanner, Tboy can send you a mailing address, and will return photos assuming you provide an SASE.

I can't promise anything, but there may be a picture somewhere of Bart in full drag as the Robber Granny in The Washington Theatre Lab's production of "The Snow Queen." (I'm not making this up. He was great.) It may be lost to the ages though - it was nearly 30 years ago.

I am so saddened to learn of Bart Whiteman's untimely death. I was a part of that time in DC theatre in the late 70's. So many memories are flooding back now. I know I have a picture of the cast of The Snow Queen with Bart in it and I will email that. I hope I can remember all the names. I'll see if I have any other pictures. I hope you can have an online tribute to Bart so all can see it. I was surprised to find online a few years ago that Bart had relocated with his family to Chattanooga, my hometown. I wanted him to shake things up there artistically. I'm glad I had a few email exchanges with him a few years ago and reminisced a bit. I'm sorry I lost touch and didn't see him on one of my visits home. Bart was one of a kind and I have great respect and fondness for him and all the other wonderful theatre people I knew from those days. My deepest sympathies go to his family.
