Washington Shakespeare sent out an e-mail this morning announcing what'll replace that canceled Lear: a "world premiere by William Shakespeare."
Which is to say a stage adaptation of The Rape of Lucrece, that cheery little narrative poem about, you know, the rape of Lucretia, by Lucky Spinster.
Who spent a good deal of the last few days getting it on the page, apparently, in between proto-stalkers and exceedingly odd dreams involving Daniel Frith. (Though Tboy thinks he saw her in the house at Theater J last night, so she must've taken at least a little time off.)
Opening has been pushed to Feb. 13. (The Lear was supposed to go up on the 1st.) The e-mail links back to the WSC site for more info ... but as of this afternoon, anyway, the site was still pimping the Lear...
Hey, who DOESN'T dream about Daniel Frith?
